I met with the energetic couple Sunara and Tyler last year to discuss invitations for their wedding. They got engaged in Vegas and wanted to include the Vegas theme in their wedding, but definitely not Elvis style. We laughed, we discussed, we brainstormed…and the vision for this energetic wedding emerged. The theme for their wedding invitations and other papery…”Vegas Glamour”. Why a theme you may ask? Themes are great, because they give you focus and feel for your wedding and reception. Also its a great starting off point for me, the designer, it helps us understand your vision, so we can design a beautiful cohesive papery ensemble for you!

Sunara and Tyler wanted the papery to be glamorous, dramatic and modern, with a touch of bling, while utilizing their colors of pink, cream and gold. My solution for this lovely couple was a square pocket fold invitation with a touch of modern style and glamour. This style fit them, it is modern, glamorous, a little touch of drama and bling. I am so excited to share Sunara and Tyler’s wedding stationary papery with you!

Why I love weddings!

Our wedding page 1

Growing up, I was never the girly girl. I was a tomboy, I played sports, I climbed trees, I did not care for dresses too much. Then somewhere in my teenage years I discovered boys and BAM! I started to dream about my wedding. What kind of dress would I have, what would my flowers look like and so on. I even designed my wedding dress, a few times, because as we know trends change.

Anyway I constantly dreamed of that perfect day when I would marry the man of my dreams. Then reality hit, first I have to find the man of my dreams to get married. You can\’t have one without the other. Needless to say, I went through many frogs before I found my prince(I know cliche´, but you understand).

So when I found my prince and he proposed and I said yes…then I realized, I have to plan the wedding of my dreams ON MY OWN! I know what you are thinking, how does an artist plan, we are spontaneous, free spirits, we never follow the rules, who was I kidding. But in the end I did okay with a little help from my friends and family. Although, the one thing I am is detail oriented and a PERFECTIONIST! I am sure many of you can relate. I wanted everything how I dreamt it to be, the dress, the flowers, the reception hall, the food. Then the true budget creeps in and you have to cut corners and some things just go to the way side, because you can’t afford them or its just not realistic.

So that is when I started to realize the true nature of a wedding. It is to share your love with the people that mean the most to you and your fiance. The day of my wedding was one of the best days of my life, because I was surrounded by the people that my fiance and I loved. And we were able to share that special day with them. It meant the world to me to have both of my sisters there standing by my side, to have my brother there as one of the groomsman, to have my dad walk me down the aisle and to have my mother look at me with pride and love. A girl could not ask for more. So after the extremely long day and boy was it long…..I was one of the happiest people in the world, because I got to share one of the most important days of my life with the people that truly meant the most to me.

So I guess the morale of the story is this, yes we all want the day to be the vision that we have seen for most of our girly lives, but the reality is that not everything is going to be perfect, things happen. But you have to keep these things in perspective. One, you are marrying your best friend, the man that is going to love you for the rest of your life during your good days and bad. When you are sitting at home on the couch with no makeup on and in your robe, when you are crying about nothing and when you vent about work. He is there for you. Two, you are sharing this day with people that love you and they won’t notice that those were not the exact flowers that you chose, or the seating cards were not perfect, all they will truly remember is how beautiful you were on that day and how much fun they had.

I know planning a wedding can be stressful, but if you keep these few things in mind, you will be okay.

Now that weddings are my business, I am constantly searching the web for bright new ideas for you, the bride! I have come across some great fun trends that I had wished I knew about when I was planning my wedding. They make me want to get married all over again!

The first one is colored wedding shoes. What a great fun way to add color to your wedding and they make great photo opps!

The second one is bird cage veils with flowers or feathers. They are gorgeous and props to the women that design them. If your wedding has a vintage theme, these fit right in. They add a touch of class and elegance. Below are some of my favorites.
