OPERATION NICE

I came across this website awhile back and thought it was the greatest! Here is a small description about it:

Welcome to Operation NICE!

The other day I was waiting for an elevator in my building with one other gentleman. As the elevator arrived, I hesitated. I usually let others enter first, as a courtesy. But this gentleman held out his hand, motioning me to the door. As I walked through, he said with a chuckle, “You didn’t really think I was going to walk in here first, did you?” I responded, “Well, I don’t like to take anything for granted nowadays.”

That one minor gesture brightened my day! I started to think, “What a great world this would be if everyone had consideration for others.” It’s a shame that that’s not the case currently. It’s obvious that common courtesy is lacking in society today. Just drive down a major highway and you’ll see that.

What we all need is a little NICE.

Operation NICE encourages individuals to be proactively NICE. Stop by to read some positive, upbeat news stories (yes, they exist) about nice people. Download some tools (coming soon!) to help you in your quest to communicate the concept of niceness. Share a story or two about how someone made your day.

It is not true that nice guys finish last. Nice guys are winners before the game ever starts.
– Addison Walker

I love the fact that she is asking us to be proactive about being nice. We all get so involved in what is happening in our every day lives that sometimes we forget what is happening outside our world. And this website reminds us to remember do something nice for someone when they least expect it.

My NICE story is minor, but it created a big reaction. The other day, I was at the post office standing in a line that was not going anywhere and there was a women standing in front of me complaining that and all she needed was ONE stamp. I had a book of stamps on me, so I said, I have a stamp and I gave it to her. She started to reach into her purse to hand me .44¢ and I told her don’t worry about it (trust me,  I was not too concerned about one stamp) But what really struck me was the look of surprise on her face. It was kind of priceless really.

I am sure many of you have seen this video, but it is still one of my favorites and I wanted to post it. It is so inspirational to me, because he brings all people together, just by dancing(oh and I love the song too). So take some time out from your stressfull and busy wedding planning and enjoy:)

Some great color inspiration for you today. The color green. Green pretty much goes with everything…pink, orange, chocolate brown, teal, turquoise, red, but the color combination we are focusing on today is SPRING GREEN AND WHITE. This color combination is refreshing and fun. Its what spring and summer is all about! So enjoy!

I love the details of this wedding. The vintage bottles holding the candles. The adorable shoes. The mix of ecletic and vintage details. What a sweet day.

Aqua and red are great colors for spring and summer weddings. They are fresh and vibrant! I LOVE the centerpieces used in the first photo. So simple but yet they still make a statement. The whole presentation looks modern and fresh. And the brides bouquet…simply stunning, by using various red flowers, it gives the bouquet interest. Absolutely beautiful.

Some more great color inspiration! This post is dedicated to that fresh and gorgeous color combination of Tiffany blue and poppy red. I am truly loving this color combo! Enjoy!

aqua and poppy

As you know our color inspiration comes from the original designer, mother nature and I have to say she does a fabulous job! So with that being said, our color trend feature comes from the bright and beautiful peacock feather and the deep blue sea, teal and aqua. I am loving the use of these two colors. They are so FRESH and VIBRANT. You can mix them with bright colors, such as lime, orange or red. Or you can tone them down and combine them with jewel tones, such as deep purples and green, there are many color combinations and depending on which direction you go will set the tone of your wedding. So enjoy the beautiful inspiration!

Color Combination #1: Teal and Orange

I love this wedding! It took place on St. John’s Island at a little beach called Hawksnest. The bride chose to go with a teal and citrus orange. It is so fresh and fun, it fits the whole tropical feel, while keeping it sophisticated.
